New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC) has partnered with Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of RTX Corporation, to modernise Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) with advanced airport technologies aimed at improving efficiency and the passenger experience.
Starting in May 2025 and scheduled for completion by September 2025, the project will roll out in phases and include:
- Biometric screening to streamline passenger processing and reduce wait times
- Self-service kiosks and automated bag drop stations
- Common Use Passenger Processing Systems (CUPPS) for flexible airline check-in
- Pre-security e-gates and upgraded flight information displays
- Real-time baggage tracking and predictive analytics for smoother operations
- Automated billing systems for more efficient airline transactions
The initiative reflects NNIC’s goal of transforming NAIA into a modern, internationally competitive air hub capable of handling rising passenger volumes.
