The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the national trade promotion agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), has launched the MADANI Digital Trade (MDT) platform. The integrated virtual platform, accessible at www.madanitrade.com, is designed to enhance global market access for Malaysian exporters by offering a suite of services, including business matching, a digital marketplace, market intelligence, grants, training, and trade-related business solutions.
The MDT platform harnesses automation, artificial intelligence, and data analytics to enhance trade facilitation and operational efficiency. By integrating customs services, users can handle import, export, and e-commerce declarations through a unified interface, simplifying compliance and reducing administrative tasks. The platform also includes a Digital Trade Hub, a Member Portal, and an intelligent virtual assistant, offering real-time support, current market insights, and tools for sustainability, financing, and digital marketing—designed to drive digital adoption and market expansion.
This initiative is closely aligned with Malaysia’s wider economic objectives under the MADANI Economy Framework and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030. It also supports Malaysia’s commitment to the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement and seeks to boost the digital economy’s share of GDP from 19.1% in 2019 to 22.6% by 2025. By enabling micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to compete in global markets, the MDT platform strengthens Malaysia’s role as a regional leader in digital trade and innovation. The platform was created in partnership with Nazsoft Tech Sdn Bhd, a local technology company, and with backing from the Royal Malaysia Customs Department.
