Kao Corporation has expanded its presence in Asia with the launch of its first Sensai store in Indonesia. The Japanese beauty brand’s debut counter opened in February 2025 at Sogo Plaza Senayan, a Jakarta department store located in an area renowned for its luxury hotels and high-end shopping. Kao stated that the new space is designed to provide customers with an immersive luxury skincare experience and exceptional service.
As part of Sensai’s global expansion strategy, the launch follows Kao’s introduction of its first Molton Brown store in Indonesia in December 2024. The new Sensai store officially opened on December 22, 2024, at Ciputra World Surabaya, a prominent shopping destination in East Java’s second-largest city.
Kao Corporation stated that the launch marks a significant milestone in its Global Sharp Top Strategy, which aims to establish leadership in premium market segments through high-value offerings. The store includes a ‘Fragrance Playground’ that utilizes augmented reality (AR) technology to bring fragrance ingredients to life and educate visitors. Additionally, the space incorporates Molton Brown’s recent ‘Artists of Note’ campaign, a collaboration that reinforces its identity as a fragrance-first brand.
In February 2025, the campaign expanded, with British shoe designer Ancuta Sarca becoming the latest artist to represent the British brand. This campaign coincided with the launch of Molton Brown’s Bluebell & Wild Strawberry perfume on February 19, 2025. The floral-fruity fragrance features a heart of bluebell, complemented by top notes of wild strawberry, and is set against a warm amber accord and soft driftwood base.
