Australia’s EXAL Group and Solarvest Partner to Advance Clean Energy in Malaysia

Mar 2025

Australia’s property developer EXAL Group has partnered with Malaysia’s publicly listed clean energy company, Solarvest Holdings Berhad, to incorporate sustainable energy solutions into its architectural projects in Sarawak. This initiative supports Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) 2030, which targets a 45% reduction in carbon intensity by 2030.

EXAL is incorporating advanced rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and green electric vehicle (EV) charging stations into its projects in Malaysia. Beyond solar PV systems, EXAL’s EV charging infrastructure will be entirely powered by clean energy, supporting the transition to sustainable townships through e-mobility. The partnership also enables local property owners to validate their renewable energy commitments through Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), further reinforcing their dedication to sustainability. Additionally, Solarvest’s advanced inverters and monitoring systems provide real-time performance insights, allowing users to track energy output, charging efficiency, and environmental benefits. These efforts not only reduce carbon emissions but also generate significant cost savings for homeowners by optimizing energy consumption.

Furthering its commitment to green development, EXAL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GreenRE, Malaysia’s green certification body. GreenRE-certified properties in Malaysia achieve up to 40% greater energy efficiency than conventional homes, with significant reductions in carbon footprints through optimized water use, eco-friendly materials, and lower reliance on fossil fuel-generated electricity. With GreenRE certification, properties can cut energy consumption by up to 50%, reducing operational costs while enhancing market appeal. By integrating Solarvest’s clean energy solutions and adhering to GreenRE’s stringent sustainability standards, EXAL is setting a new benchmark for sustainable real estate in Sarawak.
