We were pleased to participate in the Southeast Asia Market Day organised by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which brought together over 140 Estonian SMEs keen to explore the fast-growing markets of Southeast Asia.
Our Managing Director, Sarath Menon, delivered the keynote address, sharing practical insights and real-world experience from six key markets: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand. His session was highly interactive, with participants actively engaging and seeking his advice on how to navigate the region’s diverse business environments. Drawing from his own journey of expanding into Southeast Asia, Sarath offered actionable recommendations for SMEs planning similar ventures.
In the afternoon, our team led sector-focused breakout sessions: Pietro Guzzetti, Trade & Research Manager, co-led a roundtable on Cyber and Defence with H.E. Priit Turk, Ambassador of Estonia to Singapore, Indonesia, and ASEAN. Toan Le, Trade Consultant, together with Kristel Alver, Chief Economic Advisor at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, presented opportunities in Smart Industry and ICT. Niranjana K. Doraraj, Trade Manager, moderated a panel discussion on Understanding the Nuances of Tradition and Culture in Southeast Asia, featuring H.E. Pham Binh (Ambassador of Vietnam), Kosin Phonmang (Chargé d’affaires, Thailand), and Ariff Ali (Chargé d’affaires, Malaysia).
Each session sparked thoughtful dialogue and reflected the strong and growing interest Estonian companies have in Southeast Asia’s dynamic business landscape.
Thank you to the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful initiative.
