The South Korea’s convenience store brand GS25 has officially ventured into northern Vietnam by launching six new outlets in Hanoi, marking a significant step in its broader national growth strategy. The newly opened stores are strategically situated in key districts of the capital, including Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, and Cau Giay.
This expansion signifies a major milestone for GS25, which had previously concentrated its efforts predominantly in the southern region of Vietnam since its market entry in 2018. The brand has established a strong footprint in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces such as Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau. As of now, GS25 boasts a network of 350 outlets operating in southern Vietnam alone.
Looking ahead, GS25 has set ambitious targets for growth in the northern region, with plans to open over 40 stores in Hanoi by the end of 2025. This marks the beginning of a larger roadmap aimed at achieving 500 stores across Vietnam by 2026, followed by an even more expansive goal of 700 outlets nationwide by 2027.
The move to Hanoi not only diversifies the company’s geographical reach but also aligns with rising consumer demand for convenience retail in urban centers. As part of its long-term strategy, GS25 is expected to enhance its brand presence, introduce more localized offerings, and compete more effectively with other international and domestic convenience store chains operating in the region.
