Terumo Vietnam Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. and Daiichi Sankyo Vietnam Co., Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cardiology expertise in Vietnam. This initiative aims to equip cardiologists with advanced knowledge and techniques in interventional cardiology, addressing the country’s growing burden of cardiovascular disease.
Under the MoU, the two companies will organize scientific symposia, hands-on workshops, and continuous medical education sessions, both in-person and online. Additionally, they will support major cardiovascular centers in optimizing multidisciplinary workflows and fostering collaboration between local and international medical institutions.
With Terumo’s expertise in medical devices and Daiichi Sankyo’s advancements in antiplatelet therapies, the collaboration seeks to improve outcomes for acute coronary syndrome patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The partnership will also focus on enhancing clinical decision-making, strengthening post-PCI care, and integrating workflows across emergency, intensive care, and outpatient departments.
Headquartered in Tokyo, Terumo specializes in medical technology and provides medical solutions in over 160 countries and regions. Initially founded as a Japanese thermometer manufacturer, Terumo has since expanded its portfolio to include vascular intervention, cardio-surgical solutions, blood transfusion and cell therapy technologies, as well as essential medical products such as transfusion systems, diabetes care, and peritoneal dialysis treatments.
Meanwhile, Daiichi Sankyo is a pharmaceutical company originating from Japan and has over a century of experience in scientific research. The company focuses on developing new therapies and improving patient care through ongoing medical advancements.
